Michelle Hamilton is a Licensed Acupuncturist, Herbalist, and Certified Massage Therapist. Born and raised in San Luis Obispo, she has over 15 years experience in the health and wellness industry and is passionate about helping her patients achieving whole body wellness through natural proven methods.
While working as a personal trainer and a massage therapist, Michelle completed her undergraduate studies at Cal Poly University and went on to complete her 4 year master’s degree at from the nationally ranked Emperors College of Oriental Medicine of Santa Monica, CA.
Over the course of her acupuncture training Michelle has had the opportunity to intern at the UCLA Orthopedic Medical Clinic and graduated with academic honors. She has completed extensive post-graduate training in acupuncture for athletes, orthopedic acupuncture, women’s health, fertility, pregnancy, pediatrics and chronic pain conditions. In addition she has guest lectured at Cal Poly and is volunteers her services at the Special Olympic Games. She is member of the Central Coast Acupuncture Alliance and the SLO County Birth and Baby Network.
Working with a wide range of patients from Cal Poly colligate athletes to expectant mothers; Michelle goes to great lengths to tailor each treatment to fit the patient’s specific needs. Some of the modalities she may include in her approach include acupuncture, massage, cupping, essential oils, gua sha, herbal medicine, energy work, supplements, exercise, diet and meditation.
Michelle is also the co-founder of Meridian Mobile, a company that creates software solutions for acupuncturists. When she isn’t practicing or spending time with her family she enjoys practicing yoga, distance running and traveling. As a competitive distance runner, Michelle has an undying fascination with the capabilities of our physical and emotional bodies. As a competitive marathon runner she has placed first over-all female in multiple local marathons including Big Sur (2007), and Ventura Marathon (2015). Her next running goals include taking on ultra trail distances, as well as running the Boston Marathon for the second time.
